About Department
Dept of Political Science is one of the first depts. to have been established in the college. The Dept was established by Prof Badiuz Zaman, the founder HOD during the period the college was being run in its make shift premises in the Qasmi High School.
For a brief period, Professor Zaman left the college for a different assignment and Prof Enamul Haq took over the reins of the dept. On Prof Zaman’s return, Prof Enamul Haque, handed him back the reins of the dept and since then Prof Zanan retained the headship of the dept till his superannuation in the year 2008.
Prof Rizwan Kauser, in the year 1978 joined the dept to strengthen its faculty base. In 1983, Prof Mohiuddin Mian joined as the fourth faculty member of the dept .
For more than two decades, the quartet , viz Prof Badiuz Zaman, Prof Enamul Haque Prof Rizwan Kauser and Prof Mohiuddin Mian held forte and brought academic glory to the dept. Dr Md Ali Hussain joined the dept, first as an ad hoc (3rd Jan 2005) and subsequently as a permanent faculty member against the post vacated by Prof Badiuz Zaman .
Mr. Sajjad Ahmad joined against the post vacated by Prof Enamul Haque. Besides the regular teachers, ad hoc teacher Dr Md. Qayum has been imparting teaching to under graduate as well as Post Graduate students often the college.
Several alumni of the dept have done exceedingly well in their respective careers. The Dept is committed not only to live its glorious tradition but also to improvise it to make it compare favourably with the peer group .
COURSES RUNNING IN THE DEPARTMENT:-
The department of Political science provides quality teaching for the class of intermediate, B.A. (Hons) & Post graduation also. This classes have been running smoothly.
